– La Ferme du Pré Bois, breeds and sells its farm pigs direct from Saint-Malo.

Not forgetting, of course, all the oyster farmers who sell their oysters direct from their oyster beds in the Vauhariot area just a stone’s throw from our home, or along the coast at Les Nielles between Cancale and St Benoit des Ondes.

Our street has a cycle path and the network of cycle paths in Cancale is growing every year.

You can reach Mont Saint-Michel via the Voie Verte.

The nearest station is ‘La Gouesnière Cancale St Méloir des ondes’, after which you need to take a taxi or get on your bike to get to us.

From St Malo station, the MAT bus network can take you to Métairie du Vauhariot. The nearest bus stop to our house is: les petites croix all year round, or la Ville Es Gris during the summer season.

For hiking fans

The GR34 passes below our house, 500 metres away on foot.

It leads to km 0 of the ‘chemins de ronde’, which is just above the oyster market.

We have the ‘ACCUEIL RANDO’ label, so we frequently welcome hikers and advise them on access to the GR34 and other walks in our area.

Journey times to visit your region

By car, it takes around 45 minutes (45 km) to reach Mont Saint-Michel. Please note that once in the Mont Saint-Michel car parks, it takes between 20 and 30 minutes to reach the Mont:

– by free shuttle bus

– on foot via the magnificent footbridge built a few years ago.

By bike, there is a greenway to get there. Most of the route is flat and requires no particular effort.

By car, it takes around 20 minutes to reach the city centre. During the summer months, we recommend that you stop at one of the relief car parks (these are clearly signposted when you arrive in St Malo) and use the city’s shuttle service to reach the city centre. This will save you time and trouble.

If you have a little more time, don’t hesitate to take the coastal route via the Pointe du Grouin, St Coulomb and Rotheneuf: the spectacle is guaranteed.

By bike, there is no cycle path (yet…) between Cancale and St Malo, but the route along the small roads or the coastal road is very pleasant. Use your GPS to estimate the journey time and be prepared for a few hills.

By car, it takes around 30 minutes to reach the heart of Dinard via Saint-Malo and the Rance dam.

Be careful: the dam rises regularly (at set times, depending on the tides) and can cause traffic jams and delays. You need to factor this into your journey time.

The best way to get to Dinard is to park your car in Saint-Malo and then take the small boats of La Compagnie Corsaire or Les Bateaux Rouges, which are located at the foot of the Dinan gate along the ramparts of St Malo: you’ll avoid the traffic jams and the short journey (around 15 minutes) will allow you to discover the 2 towns from a different angle).

By car, it takes around 40 minutes to wander through the medieval streets of Dinan.

Park in the upper town (Place Du Guesclin, for example) so that you can visit the upper part of the town and take the opportunity to walk down to the port via Rue du Jerzual.

By car, it takes 1 hour 10 minutes to reach the tip of Cap Fréhel and visit Fort la Latte and the Château de La Roche Goyon.
